Thanksgiving

This was the best Thanksgiving at one of the best cabins we have stayed with Sliding Rock. We have stayed at several and this one had everything we needed to accommodate family and furry kids. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to stay for a week. We will be back to the Eldorado Lodge!!!at Double Tap Creek.

We stayed at Autumn’s Hollow October 12-18, 2024. We have stayed at at least 5 other Sliding Rock Cabins in the past. I have to say this was my least favorite for a few reasons. First, if you want a waterfront cabin, just know that the lake is not very accessible & at least when we were there, the water was brown, still, & murky. Second, this cabin is directly below the highway so you will hear traffic noise both in front & in the rear as there is a road directly behind as well with several cabins very close by. With that being said, we did enjoy our stay - the weather was beautiful, the cabin was very clean, & it is a nice set up for 2 couples as there are 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom & a living area in between. We will be back next year but just felt the need to mention these things about the cabin which are not included in the description. Hope it helps someone else.

River Dance

My parents and I are SO unhappy to leave. River Dance was amazing. Beautiful cabin and such an amazing place to decompress from the hustle and bustle. Thank you Sliding Rock for an outstanding stay. I cheated one time and went with another cabin company just to try it out... worst decision I ever made... i now ONLY use Sliding Rock and i always refer friends and family to sliding rock. You all are excellent hosts! Thank you so much!!!!!

Shelter from Helene 2024

The one thing that we never considered was that our family vacation to the beautiful mountains of Mineral Bluff Georgia would be disrupted by a hurricane! We checked in on Sunday 9/22/24 and check out on Sunday 9/29/24. Helene moved though Georgia on Friday 9/27/24 after two days of heavy rain that were not even related to Helene! We are no strangers to hurricanes since we live in Fort Myers Florida but we also know that no two hurricanes are alike and always expect the unexpected from each one. So we prepared and knew that sheltering in place was our best option since trying to go home was not possible. We absolutely made the best choice! This cabin,

"A Creek Runs Thru It" was sheltered from the storm by it's location and it's sturdy design. The creek behind the house never left it's banks and the immediate area did not flood. Amazing as this sounds, to my knowledge, we never lost power nor did we lose the TV or the internet service!

As surprising as this sounds we had a great vacation! We had family that traveled from Oklahoma and Virginia. We all were amazed by the cabin and have never stayed such a well stocked and obviously well loved, by the owners, cabin! Our dogs must have thought that they were in heaven because they enjoyed the creek so much that it was difficult to get them to come out and take a break! When it wasn't raining everyone enjoyed walking the area and meeting some of the neighbors. The weather allowed us some real bonding time with our family and the cabin is fully stocked with games of all types to keep everyone busy. When we weren't playing games we were cooking in a kitchen that was better stocked with cooking equipment than most houses! The local grocery store named Ingles in Blue Ridge, GA is truly a extremely well stocked grocery store with very friendly employees even when faced with a hurricane and all the challenges that brings.

If you are looking for a peaceful home away from home "A Creek Runs Thru It" is going the be a wonderful option for you. We have already decided to make this cabin a vacation destination for our next family get together. Hopefully we will get the opportunity to enjoy some of the surrounding area next time!

Perfect weekend getaway!

The cabin was perfect for our family of three! Our toddler had the best time playing on the rivers edge despite the cool temperatures. The cabin was very easy access to both Ellijay and Blue Ridge. We had a wonderful time at the Apple Festival in Ellijay, and enjoyed walking around and exploring all of the shops in Blue Ridge. We were so very pleased with Sliding Rock Cabins. This is our second time staying with them and we will definitely be back again!

Exceeded expectations

We were delighted to discover the cabin was even cuter in person and we had a wonderful stay. We loved the constant sound of the river. My husband couldn't stop fishing! He caught (and released) about a dozen small fish of various kinds, so he was very happy. This property is a dog owner's paradise. The dog can have a lot of freedom to be outside with you, yet everything is fenced in. Really refreshing country vacation 🙂

Fall trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The cabin is clean and well appointed. The location provides easy access to Ellijay and Blue Ridge as well as the apple orchards. The drive up the mountain is interesting but we were prepared with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The cabin provides a very relaxing atmosphere and we enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Getaway!

This is a quaint little 3 bedroom cabin in a great spot on the river. It has a fenced yard, firepit surrounded by swings, along with a covered patio directly on river where you can have dinner or just relax in the hammock with a good book! We took our 2 labs and they were right at home! You can also enjoy a dip in the large hottub overlooking the river, only a couple of steps outside the door. The layout of the cabin is perfect and it was so clean and well organized! It has a woodburing fireplace, a grill just outside the kitchen, tv's in the living room and all 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a game room. We arrived to a welcome note from the owners and a tote bag as a gift. We travel a lot on short trips to the mountains, long weekends, etc. We've stayed in numerous places but this is by far the best. I didn't even bother to leave a review on the others. They were nice as well, but not like this one. It's the perfect cabin, in the perfect place, for the perfect getaway! Highly recommend!

Mountain Getaway

We had a great stay. The view is gorgeous, the cabin was very clean and spacious. Our pup loved running around the fenced-in yard and lower deck area. Down side was the home construction next door that started with tree removal and sawing every week day. Saturday and Sunday were very quiet and relaxing. The noisy part of the construction should be done soon so future rentals should be quieter. Overall it was a very good experience and we are considering coming back next year.

Creek Manner

We enjoyed the cabin very much. The location was okay. But next time we will fine something a little closer to town.
