Quick getaway for us and this cabin is perfection! Hidden away with beautiful views and no close neighbors - restfully quiet and cozy. We loved it!

My dogs loved how they could run all around and they were safely in closed. This is the first trip they have went with us and it was so easy to have them at this cabin.

Clean and spacious cabin with good gating on walkway and to fenced yards for doggies as well as gates that kept pups free in movement as well as secure...same for grandson! Cabin was clean and set up well for privacy and all amenities in good working order. Good external lighting.Road was good with no bullies. Some narrow spots but nearby pull offs.

This cabin was perfect for our vacation. We had six adults and two dogs. The cabin is set up perfectly for dogs. All of the decks are gated. The fenced yard was great for chasing ball.
We were all comfy. We loved fires in the fireplace, watching deer from the porch, and playing pool downstairs.

From the reservations to check in the process was so easy. The cabin boasted some wonderful amenities and they did not disappoint. The views, hot tub, game room, fire pit and the numerous deer sightings made our trip very enjoyable. Sliding Rock catered to my German shepherd Moses by supplying beds, bowls, towels plus an illuminated dog collar. I deeply appreciated those perks.I highly recommend Sliding Rock Cabins & No Place Like Doe. We will definitely be returning for another stay in the future.

We had the best time and the home was beautiful. We had everything we needed and more . It was also a bonus we got to bring our pup with us! We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely time and the cabin was better than expected. Very clean and comfortable. Loved being able to take our dogs with us and having the fence for our "flight risk" dog! We will definitely stay again!

After navigating the trail to the property, we were pleasantly surprised to see the property. The property is very well maintained and provided all the necessities to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area, take in the flowing river and be greeted one morning by several deer coming by to get their morning drink of the cool clear waters.

We ventured out to visit the orchards and city surroundings. The quiet and orderly movement throughout the city was a pleasant way to spend several hours. We also visited Ellijay Wood Fired Pizza to enjoy unique a pizza and drink while in the city.

We were one of three couples that traveled to Sliding Rock with the express purpose of enjoying the quiet atmosphere while allowing us to get together daily to have breakfast and play cards together. An enjoyable time, look forward to being able to do this again.

We loved this cabin in every way. The fenced in area was great for our pup. We could relax on the outside deck with him and not have to worry about him getting out. We definitely recommend this cabin.

This was our second visit to Sounds of Silence. A rebooking should speak volumes as to our opinion. Road access is excellent, the location private and quiet, the cabin well-appointed, and the view awesome. The rental company, Sliding Rock Cabins, has been our go-to source for quality rentals for years and has always been professional and responsive to any inquiries or needs. We will be back next year.

The cabin was fantastic. It was in a great location on the mountain, very pretty area and private. It as clean, comfortable and every need was met.

We've been renting cabins through Sliding Rock Cabins for close to 20 years, and Cherokee Shoals has definitely become one of our favorites!

What makes this cabin truly special is its location on the river. Not only is it right on the water, but it's situated along a stretch where you can actually hear the beautiful sound of the flowing river 24/7. That's a huge plus for us! We've stayed at other riverside cabins where the water moves so slowly you can barely hear it. There's nothing quite like sitting on the porch, listening to the river, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

The cabin was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our weeklong stay. The beds and couches were comfortable, making it easy to feel right at home.

The outdoor spaces were fantastic! The open back porch has four rocking chairs and two small tables overlooking the river. This was our favorite spot, and we spent countless hours relaxing there. The spacious screened-in side porch was another great feature, with a large dining table and four chairs, plus additional seating, a loveseat, and a smaller table.

The fenced yard isn't particularly large, but it was clean and well-maintained. For some reason, our dogs weren't interested in going out there! That was fine with us since we enjoy walking them anyway, which we did a couple of times each day.

We always look forward to our trips to the Ellijay area and try to visit at least once a year. Cherokee Shoals offered everything we love about a mountain getaway: comfort, relaxation, beautiful surroundings, and that wonderful sound of the river.

We're already hoping Cherokee Shoals will be available when we book next year's trip. We would absolutely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is well equipped and very comfortable. Loved that we could bring our dog along. She loved exploring the back yard! We saw a family of deer many times over the course of the week, and although warned about the possibility of bears we didn’t see any. Loved being there during apple season, Mercers was our fave. Do yourself a favor and get some steaks at Oink and Moo in Ellijay. Also recommend Sasquatch Biscuits in Blue Ridge. We didn’t use the hot tub but it was perfectly clean and very inviting. We’ll be back!

This cabin was a great escape to the mountains. It was very clean and dog friendly. The front yard was fenced, so it was easy to let our dog out to do her duty, and towels were provided to place over the couch so she could sit with us. The river sounded beautiful. There’s a cabin next to you, but we still felt secluded for the most part. The hot tub and grill were great features as well, and the check in/check out process was easy. The downtown Blue Ridge area was only about 20 minutes away, and was great to visit.

We enjoyed this cabin very much. The location was perfect, we sat on the porch for hours and listened to the stream.

We loved the privacy and the water views.

Beautiful. The perfect weekend getaway. The dogs had a great time.

The weather was perfect and the porch amenities made spending time outside a pure joy. And the view from the porch every night is one of my favorite things I’ll remember about this trip. That and the bear attacking the bear resistant trash bin in the middle of the night. The staff at Sliding Rock are absolutely the best and the cabins are perfect for those of us that don’t want to vacation without our fur babies. The sharp hairpin turn was scary the first time but after that it wasn’t bad.

What a beautiful place to visit and learn some history of how the city earned its name. Such a pleasure visiting the winery, moonshine distillery and even shopping was amazing! Such incredibly, genuine friendly people.

It was a very peaceful and quiet getaway of the wonderful sound of the flowing river and just nature would give this cabin and the location 10 stars and me and my wife and our two fur child’s will definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Song of the South. The cabin was exactly as described in pictures and description. It was the cleanest cabin we have ever rented. It was nicely decorated and had many upgrades. It's not often you have no complaints whatsoever when renting a well used unit. Bed linens and towels were in great condition. Even hardware such as towel bars and faucets were upgraded. We loved the creek in the back of the cabin, and, so did our dog. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended to family and friends.

Lake Reflections absolutely was our favorite lake vacation. This home has everything you need. My husband reads at night and they even have a rechargeable book light clipped to the headboard of the master Brm. We only ate out twice and went to Ingles grocery where you can make your own salads and brought them back to the house because we loved the view and staying there so well. We brought our furs babies and took them to Chatuge park every day for a mile walk on the paved trail and a swim off of the ramp. They loved it! We drove and hiked up Bell Mountain (which is nearby up Shake Rag rd.) and went to Chatuge Dam Trail for a beautiful scenic walk across the dam. Working with Sliding Rock Cabins for the perfect lake vacation was professional and very friendly. We would definitely recommend a stay at this beautiful home and plan on returning soon.
Oh, and our dogs loved the fenced in backyard!

My dog and I loved this little getaway into the mountains. This is not our first experience with Sliding Rock, and we were equally as pleased this time. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Cherokee Shoals. Our first time traveling with our dog, but it was so nice. Only two things to point out, some of the slats on the porch were a bit wide, our dog's head fit thru some of them, a small dog could definitely get thru and fall. Our only disappointment was that the hot tub was not hot on our first night. While I appreciate that the water is changed between guests, and sometimes scheduling will affect when the wate is changed, it was disappointing that the first night it felt more like a warm bath than a "hot tub". The 2nd night was great!

It is not often that we can getaway due to work, life, etc. We rescued Gia, our Shar Pei in 2020. She had a very rough life prior to her rescue. She just turned 9 and we decided it was time for a mountain getaway. We smiled nonstop watching her explore and relax. We love renting through Sliding Rock. There are not many companies that treat fur babies like family.

Would give 5 stars across the board with the exception that the up stairs didn't cool very well and no vehicle turn around space, had to back in from neighboring property, I would stay there again.

This is a great cabin and location. We enjoyed our long weekend there, and our dogs enjoy swimming in the river several times a day. The outdoor patio with a large screen TV was a great place to watch Saturday college football. The bed was comfortable and it is a very roomy cabin. We would definitely rent this again.

The cabin was clean and ready upon arrival. A lot of personal attention was paid to the decor as well as the many useful things provided (flashlights, silverware, pots, pans, plates etc). Cell connection was better than expected. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Most pet friendly place I have ever rented! I can definitely recommend with the highest regard.

We loved everything about Cherokee Shoals. We had never stayed on the water before and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Sitting on the porch listening to the river was so peaceful. We enjoyed the screened in porch as well. Thank you for having us and and our pups!

Front porch & view of river fantastic. Very peaceful location. House was smaller than expected and a bit crowded on the interior but overall fairly comfortable. I have back issues and the mattress was much too soft for me. VERY small and low toilet so some difficulties there for an older person like me.

Peaceful and relaxing. Great place for the pups--fenced yard made life easier and less stressful. The riverfront deck with the tranquil river sounds made me so happy--perfect spot for morning coffee, reading, contemplating and soaking it all up, and perfect spot for evening cocktails 🙂

The cabin itself and creek front was amazing. Very clean, nice sunroom and modern kitchen. Bathrooms are a bit small. There is another cabin directly beside it. If you don't mind that, then I would definitely recommend this cabin. If you're looking for seclusion, find somewhere else. It would be nice if the description included the proximity of neighboring cabins. But overall a very nice and peaceful place to get away.

Sweet Water Retreat is a lovely rustic-style home that is spacious, well-furnished, and extremely comfortable. We had a lovely stay there. I highly recommend it. Note that the property sits pretty high up on a hill, and the road to it is very narrow. On the plus side, it offers great privacy, and stairs that lead right to the river.

My wife and I, with our 2 dogs, have rented several homes in NC, SC, and GA over the last 20 years. Sliding Rock is our favorite company to rent from. This is our third time renting from them. Their homes are always super nice, clean, stocked, and dog friendly.

Trout Haven Lodge is one of favorite places we have stayed. The home is beautiful and large with the master bedroom on the first floor. The huge great room along with the expansive screened porches with seating areas give plenty of room to spread out and relax. The kitchen is perfectly sized and stocked with everything you will need. The home is next to a large stream in the woods yet is easily accessible to stores, restaurants and surrounding points of interest.

We found Trout Haven Lodge to be so relaxing we were happy staying on the property most of the week.

This cabin was perfectly located, while still feeling remote. It was more than enough room for us and our pups- the bedrooms are about the size of an average living room. The interior from the rooms/bathrooms to the kitchen appear to have been renovated recently,at an obvious expense. The included amenities and river access for fishing were top notch. My only wish was that it would have been nice to walk to the river, instead of having to take the truck, but it was still only a five minute drive. We will definitely be planning a return trip!

We had such a peaceful, relaxing stay at River Dance. The kitchen was fully equipment with appliances making it easy to prepare delicious meals rather than going out for costly meals. We had plans for numerous outings but enjoyed the property and cabin so much, we spent most of our visit on site!

Very clean. Smelled like a pine cabin upon entering. Very restful. Like all vacations was too short. Liked that we could bring our dogs and not have to find a sitter.

Very nice cabin, beautiful location on the river. One lane, hard pack gravel to get there. The directions were spot on. In places, if a car going the opposite direction was there, someone would have to back up. A bit challenging at times, but I would highly recommend the property. Lots of deer!!

We’ve stayed at this cabin numerous times and always have a great time. Enjoyed the quiet, the creek and watching the deer. Our pups love it too. It’s situated between Blue Ridge and Ellijay. We enjoy going in to Ellijay shopping and trying all the great restaurants. Sliding Rock staff as always is there when if you need them and couldn’t be nicer. We will ne back!

This place is absolutely perfect! Our family of four plus doggie loved it. It has a beautiful view and home layout. Very comfortable and spacious, too. The amenities were convenient and plentiful. Clean and ready for guests to dive right in and enjoy their stay. For being a dog friendly house, there were no traces of dogs staying there at all. It definitely is a top- tier property with just the right amount of details and decor that makes you want to stay longer. Having a dock and lake access is a plus. We were able to rent a boat for multiple days and keep it there ready to use. We enjoyed tubing, fishing, and of course the stunning views of Lake Chatuge! Our dog was in heaven and loved to sit on the back porch and watch the boats go by while listening to the birds. Very dog-friendly with locked gates plus amenities for them to enjoy too. Everyday we saw a lone deer stroll by and sweet little goldfinches enjoying the coneflowers through the floor to ceiling window. So many cozy nooks to read in and it was pleasantly quiet at night. TV & WiFi worked great while the couches and beds were comfortable. My family and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It is so close to Brasstown Bald and Bell mountain, as well as other nearby towns, hikes, and waterfalls. We got a quick response from the property management team when we couldn’t figure out the lockbox after arrival. That was the only time we needed to contact them. (Heads up... the cabinets under the stove is baby proofed and the magnet to open them is on the fridge in case you close it by accident.) Don’t wait to book this incredible rental, you will not be disappointed!

From the very moment you open that wooden screen door, the noise of the outside world disappears gloriously! I don't think my mind and body have ever experienced this level of serenity. It's just as cozy as a worn in baseball mitt and the scenery? Breathtaking.

We had a great time staying up in Ellijay at the Cozy bear cabin, the cabin is so beautiful inside and out, location was great, and all the amenities in the cabin are outstanding.
