Autumn’s Hollow

Right in the middle of Ellijay and Blue Ridge! We sat down by the fire pit in the evenings while the kids were catching frogs and firefly’s. Up before the sun enjoying a hot cup of coffee on the back deck listening to nature. Jumped into the hot tub after hiking up the steps at Amicalola Falls was the much needed relief I needed. Plenty to do nearby without much of a drive from nature adventures to shopping options. Plenty of food options in the nearby towns if you don’t want to cook at the cabin. Dog friendly was a huge bonus. This cabin had everything we needed for our little family getaway.

Cozy cozy

Great cabin, clean comfortable will definitely return and enjoy the fire pit so many deer luckily did not see any bears.

LOL Fun

We enjoyed every minute of our time at LOL. The drive was exciting, bumpy, & steep- but totally worth it. The cabin was beautiful & so well equipped for people like me & my mom who didn't plan to leave for the whole trip. The grill worked great & we had many meals prepared on it. The kitchen was very well stocked- & we love to cook. They had multiple coffee makers including a Keurig, we had brought our own but we didn't need to unpack it 🙂 They also had a blender, which I don't find often in the cabins I rent. The beds, although high, were very comfortable & stools were provided for getting in & out of them. The best thing about the cabin was how well suited it was for our dogs! The fenced in yard was great, it came with a large crate, with a crate pad, a dog bed that one of our Dachshunds loved, food & water bowls a plenty, & a basket overflowing with toys. Our pups might've had more fun than we did. We would love to come back in the winter to enjoy the hot tub & outdoor fire pit (which we did start & it was easy). All in All out Fourth of July at LOL was wonderful, although far too short lived. We can't wait to get back!

Doggy Heaven

This is the place to stay if you have dogs accompanying you. We loved it as much as they did. I am confident we will return.

Awesome View

Very peaceful. My dogs loved it including barking at the black bear the morning of leaving. Would only suggest that more grading is done to the road.

Another great Sliding Rock Cabin

The Chicken Coop was one of our favorite Sliding Rock cabins. Great location, easy access and a great layout. Perfect for a large family.

Beautiful riverside retreat

Overall we had a wonderful stay here. We read the reviews and knew it would be a bit of a windy-road adventure getting to and from the cabin. That was ok for us, because we wanted to spend most of our time just "being" and not running around. That said, it no joke takes more than 15 minutes just to get out of the neighborhood.

We loved that the whole community is basically a deer sanctuary, and we enjoyed feeding them (a couple even by hand!).

The cabin had everything we needed for the relaxing vacation we wanted. What I didn't expect was there to be a campground located directly across the river. Overall it wasn't too much of a detractor but did take away from the serene atmosphere to some degree. (I think there was a scout group there the first couple nights, and there were some rowdy competitions going on one day.) I'm guessing it's less of an issue when it's not a holiday weekend.

One other thing to be aware of is the steep grade down to the water. We loved sitting on the sturdy Adirondack chairs down there, but it's a bit of a hike if you forget something or need to make a couple trips.

I would definitely recommend this cabin to a family with kids. For us we'd prefer something a little quieter and slightly easier to get to. Again, it was great overall!

And of course we will rent from Sliding Rock again and again!!

Best getaway

This was a great place for our 50th birthday getaway. The cabin is well equipped and the people at Sliding Rock Rentals were very attentive and offered suggestions for celebrating the 4th of July while we were there. The location could be tricky to get to in rain or ice/ snow without a 4 wheel drive, but that’s part of the charm. The river was wonderful for relaxing next to with our pups and the fenced in yard was a big convenience. Planning on coming back soon!

Beautifully Secluded

I don't even know where to begin. This cabin is absolutely beautiful inside the pictures do not do it justice. Even in the dead of suummer is was cool outside being under the canopy of the trees allowing us to use the hot tub even in the middle of the day. The creek is much nicer than the pictures as well and we took our pup down there to play everday. The bed was super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook amazing meals everyday. The internet service was great never had in disruptions. I highly advise 4x4 or AWD vehicle to get to this cabin. I did it once in 2wd but when we came back from grocery store I used my 4wd and it made it so much easier... Over all this cabin comes highly rated from my wife and I and we are already planning our trip back here for our anniversary!

A Cottage at Riverside Review

This cabin is very nice to stay in. It has a very large treed fenced in dog yard on one side an a nice tree lot on the other. The Ellijay River is beautiful and the property is right on it. You can go in the water with a bit of some root steps down. We had large dogs that just jumped down onto the shore of the River. No root steps needed for them. I recommend wearing some type of water shoe going down the roots. The roots are not sharp so don't worry about that.
The road to get to the many Sliding Rock Cabin rentals is typical of mountain roads. Mostly a gravel/dirt road with pavement going down a very steep hill by the cabin. The road can be very narrow in some spots where only 1 car can get by. I refused to drive it because it's not something I was comfortable with so I left the driving out and in to my husband. That road is about 1.5 miles.
You will be blessed with passing through the most beautiful covered bridge. Trucks have to take the creek entrance to the right.
I recommend it and taking a trip to hike the approach trail to the Appalachian Trail in Amicalola State Park and a hike at Fort Mountain both nearby.
We hated leaving.

Wonderful River Retreat!

3rd year in a row I have rented with Sliding Rock cabins. Each year, we have tried a new spot, but I think this will be a place to return to!! The cabin is big enough (4 adults, 3 dogs) to not be on top of each other, while also being cozy. The outside space is impressive! The boardwalk to the patio over the water is very well maintained and safe (unless you have a blind dog who tried to fall off the walkway!). Riverside Retreat had all the amenities needed, the grill was super convenient to the kitchen (though the grill grates could stand a replacement). Well stocked kitchen. Do note that the upstairs king "master" is not private- it is in a loft space. Only minor issue to us was that there was only 1 single 2 person hard wood bench in the covered porch. Fortunately, we traveled with some camp chairs, so we set that up on the enclosed deck to hang out outside during the rain. Relaxing, wonderful long weekend! Thanks!

Another Great Stay!

This is our 3rd time staying at RHR and we love the location. The staff at Sliding Rock are always so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for visiting Ellijay or Blue Ridge. Lots of great places to eat and shop in Ellijay. Will be back.

Relaxing

Highly recommend you have an Awd or a 4-wheel drive vehicle in order to get here or be experience with the roads. We loved the view so being stuck due to the rain wasn't a big deal for us since that's what we come here for the view and being to get away from everyone.

Annual Escape! We love this cabin!

We come here every year! Thanks for such a wonderful getaway. The view is amazing and we are always awe struck! Morning coffee outside on the deck and evening wine. The stress of the city just disappears here. We even saw a momma bear and 2 cubs. We love Heavenly View!

Perfect

This was a family vacation with my husband, brother, sister, brother in law and my 83 yr old Dad. We have two dogs and my Dad has one. It was a great place for us all. Enough room. We did see a bear on the property, deer and a few turkeys. Of course being in the Mts is more difficult for hiking for the elderly but the drives and scenery was perfect.

WONDERFUL

We had a lovely time! We stay in different cabins through sliding rock and this has been our favorite. Easy river access and we always love how everything is dog proofed. Absolutely loved our trip- this place had everything we needed. The driveway was super difficult to pull into even with an SUV, and the drive to get to the cabin was rough but those are the only complaints. We will be back!!!

Amazing Stay!

What an amazing stay.... though way too short. We arrived to the most beautiful views I have ever seen. The drive was great just up a gravel road that really made you feel as if you were away from it all. The owners though of everything and we loved the separation of sleeping areas. Everything was spotless and our dog loved the fenced yard. It was nice to get away from the summer heat at home.

We will definitely return to this cabin.

Great cabin!

The cabin was great! We used the game room every night. The kitchen had everything we ever needed. Beds were very comfy, too. We saw deer every day. The roads leading to the cabin were easy. The gps took us straight to the cabin. Downtown Elijay is adorable!
The downsides were the chiggers. I used spray every day and only received 4 bites. My hubby did not, and he is eaten up.
I wouldn't call it a fenced yard. It's more of a fenced potty area. There's no playing ball or frisbee. If you have a small dog, it'll be fine though. We had 3 med/large dogs, so we had to find other places in the resort to play in. Overall, it was a great stay! 4 stars only because of the fence.

"Stormy Night"

What a comfortable cabin-real homey and a dogs delight (2).Arrived 6/6/2025.Spent Saturday totally relaxing. Then evening came and with it a horrific storm(we forgot the candles!!) As my grandson prepared to make the trip to Walmart while it was dusk a very thoughtful neighbor came by to check on us.They said a tree had fallen on their house and they were going to shelter elsewhere.Thank you neighbors for caring. The light came back on about rain, we went to Bigfoot Museum.Very interesting. Then to the beautiful falls. Wonderful time and place. Second time at S.R .Looking forward to the next.

This cabin is exceptionally clean, very comfortable and in a great location. It has everything you need. Easy to get to and close to what you need. We hiked every day - about an hour drive east and south - a beautiful drive. So many trails to experience!

Great Cabin!

We loved this cabin and property. It was perfect for our two pups. Cozy and had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. I definitely recommend and do hope to stay here again!

Wonderful place

We spent 7 nights at this cozy cabin in the Coosawattee River Resort and absolutely loved our stay. The cabin had everything we needed — clean, comfortable, and fully stocked for a relaxing retreat.

The absolute highlight was the deer! They came right up to the cabin each morning and afternoon, waiting to be fed. It was such a peaceful and magical experience being surrounded by nature, with the river flowing nearby and wildlife right outside the door.

The road to the cabin was a little intimidating at first, but once we got used to it, it was no problem. Overall, this was one of the most relaxing getaways we've had. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nature-filled escape!

Seclusion was great! Needed a quiet getaway and this was just the place. Sliding Rock made the whole experience from reservations to checking out a smooth process. Wonderful stay

We rented R & R River Retreat for four nights and had a great time. The cabin is well-equipped, clean, and comfortable and is right on the river. Saw lots of beautiful deer. The owners even provided food for us to put in the deer feeders so we could watch them eat! Great porches. We highly recommend this cabin.

Lake reflections

My rental experience went great. The home was clean and nice. The weather could've been better. Loved the fenced yard. Found a closer ramp for our boat. Lake was awesome. Would like a flattered yard to get to boat dock. I understand that's mountain life. Loved to cook so kitchen could've been more of a chef kitchen. I'm a rare breed on cooking and not going out. All in all great place. Thank you

Getaway

We arrived at Autumn's Hollow and it was perfect. The cabin was very well appointed with everything you could need. The cabin was very welcoming and extremely comfortable. The coffee bar was a great touch. I loved that there were dog treats and everything we could need for our pup. Do keep in mind it is pretty steep terrain so walking your dog can be alittle tricky. We did experience an earthquake which was a first!! The cabin shook like crazy but all was well. I would definitely recommend Autumn’s Hollow. The management company was amazing. Their communication was spot on.

We love Forever Friday!

This was our 2nd time staying at Forever Friday and our 5th time staying at Sliding Rock Cabins. This cabin has everything you need. It is very clean and well kept. Our two huskies loved the freedom and swimming in the river. The flat gated area makes it safe and easy to let the dogs out to go potty. We enjoyed relaxing and playing games. Thank you Sliding Rock for always making our vacations memorable.

Itta Bena and Trout Haven

We recently rented both cabins for a long weekend family get-together.
The convenience was fantastic. We stayed outside by the stream or on the screened porches 90% of our time. Fish were slow to bite, but those that did fish really enjoyed the water. Both cabins were clean. We ran short of toilet tissue in both cabins, so I would take extra next time. We will definitely be back to enjoy the serenity.

Peaceful, relaxing retreat

Trout haven cabin provides a beautiful and relaxing environment with the screened porch and open air entertainment area with the opportunity to have media, music and laughs in a protected environment! The creek is most impressive with the roaring sounds of water flowing rapidly pass the area and you have the ability for a fire just feet from the flowing creek! Absolutely wonderful for the mind, body and spirit!
