We love staying at Highland Cottage! It was our second time in this cabin and itās nestled in an awesome secluded spot! Love all Ellijay and blue ridge have to offer. Sliding rock cabins are amazing and have always been helpful if needed anything, weāll be back!
Wonderful place so close to the water. There was fishing, hot tubbing, game playing, grilling and pure relaxation!
We loved our stay! Beautiful setting! Loved how was in the middle of the woods and had the beautiful stream right there behind it! Loved the hot tub and hammock. Loved how dog friendly it is! That is a big plus!
Itās really hard to explain just how wonderful our time was at Waterās edge. What an amazing gift the owners have created and allowed us to share in. We canāt wait to go back!
Great cabin-nice location. Loved the hot tub and the outdoor fireplace. Excellent girls weekend getaway-easy and short travel to restaurants and downtown Blue Ridge.
Cabin was exactly as described and easy to find once we found the right road! So nice to be able to bring our fur babies and have them experience something new as well. Our only complaint was the fact that if you are elderly you cannot get to the fire pit or the hot tub as the stairs are much too steep. With that said we would recommend the cabin to those able to get around much easier.
The cabin was immaculate and well-equipped for both humans and dogs. The dogs had treats waiting for them along with a doggy bed, blanket, kennel and water/food dishes. We all loved the fenced yard, which was directly off the front door, for easy morning outings. Our daily hot tub soaks under the tree canopy and sitting on the porch listening to the birds was relaxing. The cabin is secluded and we enjoyed walks along the dirt roads to the path along Amy Creek. We had never been to the area and were looking forward to exploring both Ellijay and Blue Ridge. We arrived on a rainy day and the roughly 3 1/2 mile drive, on steep dirt roads to the cabin was bumpy with deep washout holes which were difficult to see in the rain. We adjusted our itinerary to have limited trips up and down the mountain. Our quiet days at the cabin were wonderful as the cabin has everything you need and with nature all around, the dogs enjoyed their extra walks. We visited four breweries, opting to share sampler flights and bring a crowler of our favorite back to the cabin. Grumpy Old Men brewery in Blue Ridge was our favorite, being a bit more upscale and having a bigger range of beers to sample. Cartecay River Brewing has old school video games to play for free including Nintendo Mario Kart which was an enjoyable trip back in time. Cartecay Bike and Brewery has a bike trail behind the shop (we wish we had brought our bikes). The blackberry wheat was my favorite. Both cities have plenty of shops and dining options and the cabin is mid-way between the two. Sliding Rock management was very prompt and helpful when we couldnāt figure out how to find local stations on the TV.
It was a relaxing, enjoyable trip and would have been perfect if we wanted to just stay at the cabin. Be aware, the beds are extremely high. Iām 5ā3ā and did not feel comfortable getting on/off the bed. Iām also 60 so maybe this wouldnāt even be a concern with a younger person. Th
We will definitely will stay here again. So peaceful and relaxing! We love that itās pet friendly too! What a great time spent with family from out of state.
Nice cabin great views. The cabin had everything we needed. The road to the cabin needed some maintenance, but other than that would definitely recommend.
We stayed with another couple and there was room to have privacy for each family. Enjoyed the GORGOUS VIEW off the back deck. Had all supplies we needed. Our two dogs felt right at home and were able to use the fenced yard. Only recommendation is to be sure you bring a vehicle that can climb steep hills, as this is at the very top of the mountain! We were in a four-wheel-drive, so we did OK. Just be aware.
