When it comes to visiting the Blue Ridge Mountains, the best plan of action is to try and book when kids are still in school–if you don’t have kids, that is. Why? Well there is more flexibility in availability because less people are traveling during the non-peak times. You can also usually land better rates than usual.
You Can Still Book Smart if You Have Kids
However, if you have kids then your vacation timeframe is limited by a stringent school schedule, forcing you to travel during busier times. So the question here is can you travel when your kids are out of school but still miss out on the crowds and high prices?
Here’s our suggestion–travel as early in June or as late in August as you can. Not all schools end the year or begin the year at the same time. So you may be able to beat everyone out by a week!
