R & R River Retreat

Hospitality at this cabin was fantastic! Pool Table, FoosBall, board games, TVs, sauna, jacuzzi, full kitchen-well stocked, modern bathrooms, grill, picnic table, fire pit, outdoor seating, porch seating, fenced yard, pet friendly, private, parking, comfortable beds, fireplace! Also plenty of community amenities! Super Clean! Management responsive to needs! Can’t wait to return! Will send referrals!

A trip to the GA Mountains through Sliding Rock Cabins has become an annual family event for us and this year didn’t disappoint! This lovely cabin on the Coosawattee River was the perfect location to relax and unwind. We started each day with breakfast on the porch listening to the river, watching birds, and waiting for the local deer families to stop by for their daily visit. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with every convenience we needed. The game room on the lower level was the perfect fun retreat on the one day it rained. My family was able to get some fishing in and we thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit by the riverbank. There are quite a number of stairs to get down to the river, but even with a bad knee, as long as I took my time it wasn’t bad. The fenced yard right off the front porch for our three small dogs was absolutely perfect...easy to access and completely secure.
The location is perfect for visiting the sights and attractions in Ellijay and the surrounding area...antique stores, farmer’s markets, Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, and the charming town of Helen. Getting in and out of the resort was not difficult, and we had no issues at the security gate. The roads to the cabin are steep and winding, but being in the mountains, that’s expected. The majority of the roads to the cabin are paved with only about the last 1/3 mile gravel. We didn’t have 4-wheel drive and we were fine getting to and from the property...although low gear was definitely helpful in a couple of spots
We’re already planning for our next trip to Ellijay in April 2024. I can’t speak highly enough about Sliding Rock Cabins; they are attentive, easy to work with, and the cabins they manage are wonderful for all members of the family! And most importantly, they truly are the epitome of pet friendly. Being able to bring our dogs with us on vacation and knowing we’re taking them to a place that does not charge pet fees.

We absolutely loved the R&R river retreat. The cabin is beautiful, the screened porch is lovely, and they even left corn to feed the deer. The kids mostly stayed down in the game room until we moved in on them. Great time!

We appreciated all the little things in the cabin and the views (including the dear on our last day) were phenomenal. It was exactly what we were looking for to get away and enjoy some downtime.

My wife and I wanted something very special for our 40th anniversary, our rental was just that. We both love the wild outdoors and we did get a treat. The sound of the water flowing down the river while sitting by our camp fire was so peaceful. Every day we were visited by several deer and squirrel's. The cabin was clean and cozy as well as packed games in case the weather ran you inside. One major plus was the rental is pet friendly, we didn't want to leave our fur baby out of the enjoyment.
